how to decorate the dining room
A dining room can be the least-used room in the house. It can also be the most fun to decorate. Here's how to decorate it with style:
- Forget the old tradition of buying matching dining set. It is a lot more modern to mix and match. There are so many fabulous fabrics out there. You can have much more fun mixing fabrics/patterns. Do not think the table finish has to match the chairs. It's ok to blend. Mix modern chairs with a classic table. Why not? It's more interesting that way.
- A rectangular table is the most versatile. It works well with most rooms. A round one is good in square or round room. It also allows for better social interaction.
- Chairs must be comfortable. Most dinner parties take between one to three hours. Don't torture your guests with uncomfortable chairs.
- Dress up your tables with flowers, candles, and good lighting when you have dinner parties. For everyday, silk or dried arrangements (nice ones) work well, so is simple decorative vases. Whatever you do, buy the best silk arrangements you can afford. Nothing is tackier than cheap looking silk flowers.
- Beautiful chandeliers, great artwork and live plants are the essential accessories to complete the look.
