how to add luxuries to your life, inexpensively
Luxury doesn't mean it has to be expensive. There are a lot of little things you can do to pamper yourself without having to spend a fortune.
Make your bathroom into a private spa:
- Get expensive soaps, bubble bath, scented candles for your bath.
- Get some pretty bottles to hold your soap and shampoo.
- Install a new showerhead, one that gives great water pressure and stylish at the same time.
- Invest in a nice bath rug.
- Cover your vanity tool/bench with a luxurious terry cloth.
- Get pretty canisters to hold your Q-tips and cotton balls.
- Install nice lighting. It will do wonder to your self-esteem.
Make your bedroom into a sanctuary:
- Buy the best sheets you can afford. The higher the thread count, the longer it will last and the softer it will get over time.
- Put some fresh flowers and scented candles on your nightstand. While you are at it, put some nice chocolate in the drawers as well.
- Get a good reading light.
Make your kitchen a happy place...
- Make sure your pantry is always stocked with the basic luxuries such as extra-virgin oil, sun-dried tomatoes, olives etc. They always come in handy when hunger strikes at midnight.
- Your refrigerator should always have the basic. In our world, that means gourmet ice cream, good cheese and a nice bottle of vodka in the freezer.
- Get some beautiful cook books. Even if you never cook anything from it, use them for inspirations.
Make the family room the best room in the house:
- Invest in the best sofa/sectional you can afford, as this is probably where you spend the most time with friends or watching TV.
- Buy nice home accessories such as pillows, artwork, rugs and home décor. They'll help make the room warm and cozy!
- Invest in quality furniture. They last longer and make a better investment in the long run.
