Mini Mikado Pendant

Designer Miguel Herranz explores the different definitions of "light" with his Mini Mikado Pendant (2005). Evoking a sense of weightlessness, the pendant appears to be floating in space rather than suspended from the ceiling. The illumination is an engaging blend of light and shadow between strips extending from two sheets of stamped wooden veneer that are mounted together. In addition to the diffuse ambient light, the pendant provides soft downward illumination for a dining table or task area. The dynamic shape of this pendant is different from every angle and is especially striking when grouped in multiples. The German Design Council, in collaboration with the Messe Frankfurt, awarded the Mikado Pendant with a Design Plus award for innovative and outstanding design. Suitable for residential or contract use. Simple assembly required. Bulb Compact Florescent 13W E-26 (60 W Light Output). Made in Spain.
